Yext Research Reveals Nearly Half of U.S. Shoppers Experience Inaccurate Store Hours

In a separate analysis, Yext looked at a sample of 2.4 million current customer locations and found that over 80% had business hours listed in the Yext Knowledge Graph. Of these establishments, only 8.6% have updated their hours of operation for Memorial Day in 2021. Establishments that do not confirm hours of operation for the holidays will display a warning on their Google Business Profile , and 52% of respondents in the recent Yext poll said they don’t. are unsure about visiting a place of business if they see this message.

The bright side ? More than two-thirds of respondents indicated that they are more likely to return to a company if its online information is consistent and reliable.

“Our research confirms what we’ve known all along: users want to trust the information they find online, but too often businesses let their customers down by providing them with outdated or inaccurate hours of operation,” said Marc Ferrentino, President and Chief Operating Officer at Yext. “It’s absolutely critical that businesses maintain complete and accurate information on all of their location listings.
